Water drops

By

Water drops fell from the sky,
Strangers then from way up high,

And landed on, a leaf below, Who they’d meet, they did not know,

Each flowed down, the leaf with ease,
Pushed together, by the breeze,

Tangled up for just a moment,
Long connected but didn’t know it,

Groove came up, forced apart,
Loneliness began to start,

Reaching ridges, came back together,
Their edges connected as a tether,

As they moved in unison,
Happiness had filled within,

They reached the edge, and saw the end,
Not sure where they would be sent,

Off the side, to another leaf,
Separated in disbelief,

Came to rest, right on top,
Where was the other drop?

Waiting, hoping for the wind,
To blow them back together again.
